Hey guys..
I had come over to Muscat (m posting from here) and im leaving tonight for chennai (sigh.. ).. It was just a 4 day visit because of the non stop fever and cough and homesickness that i had contracted from somewhere.. Will be back in Trichy tomorrow evening.. So till next time when i can take a rickety bus from college to the cafe, and come online and post again, bye take care and adios.. m doing well now anyways.. still mum insists to go see the doc AGAIN !! Oh my.. So guys i gotta leave soon for the highly acclaimed Saud Bahwan Polyclinic... (SIGH :-( ..... ) .. Hey guys
M in Mumbai !! Yea !! No i didnt get expelled from NIT Trichy.. hehe.. My 1st Cycle Tests got over and there's an inter college festival going on in our college (Festember) so we first years hav around a week off.. So, making full use of this opportunity, I dashed out of the college( first without the air tickets and passport.. then went all the way back to my room.. then again dashed out.. hehe) then took a cab to the Central Bus Stand along with a friend who accompanied me on the same flight.. and then took a rickety screwd up bus to chennai... where i had to find the worst seat possible.. and somehow reached chennai airport at 2 in the morning... then my flight was at 5:30 in the morning and landed mumbai at 7:30.. n now me here !! at my cousins' place plannin to enjoy next 8 days...
I so wish itwas more than that.. so i can blog more and more often... but u guys plz keep visiting.. i may post once in a blue moon.. and one of the next few days i'll post abt life in NIT Trichy.. not 2day me too tired.. so bye and take care till i post next time..

Hey guys..
After a flight from Mumbai to Chennai and then spending the evening at one of my dad's friends place, i took the bus at 11 in the night and reached Trichy at 7 in the morning, with a cold.. Sigh.. The A/C in the volvo bus was too strong.. :( .. newayz checked into Hotel Jenny's (no wonder all valets were female.... lol !!! :) ...) .. had a ligh breakfast and trotted into this Sify Iway broadband cafe.. The NIT is about 15 kms from the city and i will only be going to the institute only tomorrow ... So i have the day for myself here in Trichy... Guess i'll just go back into my cosy room and cuddle into the bed.. Sigh.. One of my last days to sleep in an A/C room !!...
Anyways bye till next time.. maybe i'll post when i have already been admitted (into the institute..) .. So bye and tc.. keep :-)

Hey..
Congrats to all DASA admission seekers who got admission into the course and institute of their choice.. List of DASAites from ISM can be found on Uren's blog... And the whole list on the EDCIL website under the flash news icon... Meanwhile Zizou buried in a 33rd minute penalty and got France a step closer to winiing the coveted cup.. Though Portugal retained majority of the possession, they couldnt do much with it as France stole the match.. So now its Portugal vs Germany on the 8th July for the 3rd place... And germany will be so hoping to make the maximum of the home advantage this time around against Scolari and Co.

Finally! 5 July... DASA results comin out 2day... Best of luck to all admission seekers under this so-highly acclaimed scheme (incl. me... lol :-) ) meanwhile... Germans won't need to go far to reach their homes :-) and... Today's the day for the 2nd semi final... France vs Portugal... and Deco's back Yeah !! After a long time it's been an All-European semi clash in the FIFA WC... Lets see if Zizou can bring another win for his country.. quite a day !! Again all the best for all DASAites..

The Fifa World Cup 2006 brought many a spectacle, with the most amusing of them being the refereeing blunders... Not so amusing for the team at the recieving end of them though...
Lets take a look...

Graham Poll (Croatia vs Australia)
He showed Josip Simunic(Croatia) not one, not two but three yellow cards before finally sending him off. So we have :
3 yellow cards = 1 red card
He announced his retirement soon from international football..

Luis Medina Cantalejo (Italy vs Australia)
He didnt spot a dive from Fabio Grosso(Italy) inside the penalty box and instead of cautioning Grosso, he awarded Italy a 95th minute penalty,or rather Italy a place in the next round and tickets for the Australian team back home..
The Italian Job completed...
Sigh !!

Horacio Elizondo(England vs Portugal)
After a tussle involving Rooney(England) and Carvalho(Portugal), Rooney's foot caught Carvalfo's groin. Christiano Ronaldo came running in to convince the refree that Rooney deserved a card.Rooney gently pushed Ronaldo(his Manchester United teammate) and the referee promptly showed Rooney the red.

Valentin Ivanov(Holland vs Portugal)
Ivanov seemed to think cards were chocolates and the payers were children, and he were the Santa.. Promptly rewarding one player after another with cards, the game ended with a world cup record tally of 16 yellow and 4 red cards.. (For the full article on this match click here)

Laughed: In the morning while chatting with Uren on Yahoo Msgr, some of his statements caught me off guard and i ended up laughin till i cried ! After that an episode of Friends Season 9 propelled me into further madness....

Cried: Ummm.. lemme see.. gawwdd.. i dont remember when i cried last !! But i was close to tears after a certain tragedy in the family recently... :-(

Fought: With my cousin sister for the TV remote..

Read a Book: Excluding Archie comics :-) , last book i read was Deception Point(Dan Brown)

Shouted: At the refree of yesterday's England-Portugal match, when he sent off Wayne Rooney.

Got Angry: For the same reason: Wayne Rooney's sendin off..

Lost Somehing Precious: My Cell... It fell out of my cargos in a rickshaw... :-(

Got a Precious Gift: Ipod Nano... My Dad gifted me for my Birthday..

Said 'I Hate You': Thats only said to people who u love... So..... :-)

Was disappointed: At losing out the 90% benchmark in boards by a mark, which cost me admission in an awesome college.. :-(

Was hurt: Psychologically: When Owen was out of the WC (talk about being football crazy!) and Physically: ummm... gawwwdd. i dont remember.. no marks on my body also to suggest otherwise.. :-)

Was shocked: Looking at the population of the world !! (check my side pane!!)

Howz you doin ?? As i was travelling in my cousin's car,he put in a CD and i loved one of the tracks, it sounded vaguely familiar and is really a rocking song.. Wonder how many of you have heard it, but "Sandstorm" by "Darude" is one song you wont regret downloading..
All the same Brazil tamed Ghana, and Spain crashed out as Zizou showed his class, leading his team to a 3-1 victory sealing a place against the mighty Brazilians in the quarters... Next 2 matches being only on 30 June : Germany Vs Argentina ; Italy Vs. Ukraine.. Gonna be hell of a night !!

Switzerland... Penalised & Heartbroken

Hey guys.
Finally my wish came true and the first penalty shootouts of the Fifa World Cup 2006.. Throughout the 90 minutes of the match(Ukraine Vs. Switzerland), and the extra 30 minutes,I was wishing and hoping no one scored.. And then after a long wait, the penalty shootouts arrived... Ukrainian goalie Shovkovskyi wasnt the least bothered as the Swiss hammered the kicks onto the bar or directly at him...Surprisingly,the Swiss, who haven't conceded a single goal in the tournament,failed to convert from the spot.. So Ukraine nabbed a 3-0 victory and booked themselves a spot against Italy in the quarterds on Friday.. But before that we habe the mighty Brazilians facing the newbies Ghana tonight (IST), lets just hope Ronaldinho shows us his best form which he has been talking about in the last few days... Portugal Vs Holland - A Rugbyish Encounter

Hey all..
The people of the world are now divided into 2 parts.. the ones who saw the Portugal vs Holland football match, and the ones who didnt... N I'd say the latter missed an amazing match of violent football...
The goal scorer for the match was Maniche, following a beautiful cross from Deco and a gentle tap by Pauleta..He did it again, as he did in Euro 2004,being the lone scorer against Holland..
16 yellow cards and 4 red cards constituting the match, very frequently the players got into tussles.. Deco got suspended for no reason,or rather no fault of his.. and Scolari (Portugese coach, ex-Brazilian Coach who led them to WC victory in 2002) was Fuming... and the match finished, with 6 minutes extra time in the second half, with 9 players a side... And I guess the Man of The Match award should go to Refree Valentin Ivanov..
Portugal, though having qualified, now have 4 of their players in serious trouble... Deco and Costinho suspended for the next match,Luis Figo may face disciplinary action by FIFA, and from the way Christiano Ronaldo was in tears after being taken off because of a mighty blow to his right thigh,he's unsure for the next match as well..
But Portugal may take respite from the unsettled performance of the English against the Ecuadorians, with Beckham being the lone scorer.. Flashes of brilliance from Steven Gerrard came now and then but none of them resulted in the back of the net..
So both England and Portugal have a herculean task at hand, facing each other in the quarters next weekend, an awesome match to look forward to..
As Ecuador and Holland take a flight back home, I wish them a safe and happy journey...

Everybody (He's Back)

Heyy guyz
He's arrived in Germany amongst so much criticism..
He was called fat, overweight, unfit. and yet he's back...
There's no denying Ronaldo's brilliance in the Brazil vs. Japan game and he's given his critics no opportunity whatsoever to come back at him...
Inspite of his poor performance in the first, and average in the second game, the Brazilian came back with a bang in the third...
Let's just hope he's for real, and the nightmare of his 1998 World Cup failure doesnt haunt him any more than it did in the first two games..
(though my personal favorites are Kaka and Lionel Messi :-) i felt it was right to post about Ronaldo's return.. he deserves it... Keep the samba up ..)

Well he did take my interview.. and he POSTED IT...Gave me quite a shock in the beginning but i saw that i hadnt said anything crap... So it was ok... Hey guys...The results are out (of course... ... ) and most, if not all of us did well above our
expectations......So, isnt it time we thank our wonderful teachers who put in more than just 2 years' of hard work in training us for the BOARDS......

The usual school day starts... First period bell rings and our own sweet Engglish teacher Mrs. Sudha Nayar, walks in...Going back... Day 1.... And she said English is not going to be a piece of
cake.... and taking it lightly is certainly not advisable..... But... of course, who would pay heed
to her words.... Class XI A (2005-2006) recieved one of the most disastrous marks in ISM history ever.... Many a week Mrs. Pamela trotted in.... but !! before she came, Mrs. Sudha repeated "Class... (smile) ... please pay attention when HOD comes... and answer my questions... !!" ... Yes, we all pretended hard to listen, but when the questions were asked, (u no wat)... Except of course the english gurus prevailed... Priscy, Varun managed to get awesome marks.... Thx to them for savin our class....Then class XI went on to get over,and on Day 1 of class XII, again we heard the same words "Class,u have to work hard".But,until the month of february,very few people gave much attention to english..But Mrs. Sudha kept up her encouragement rally,to help our class come out with some the BEST marks in english in the boards.She helped "weak" students catch up and here I am,thanking her for everything she has done for our class..I could go on and write a huge book on her,but,alas!im no good in writing skills. Finally i would like to tell Mrs. Sudha that she was our favorite teacher, and class XII A loves u... We'll be in touch....

As Mrs. Sudha leaves,Mr. V.Selvan walks in immediately,because he was waiting outside for the past 3 minutes...Yes.. he's never been late... Sorry sir, as always, Im not sure of the spelling of your first name..hope im forgiven..:-) One of the most knowledgeable teachers...we always waited for his class especially for the facts and trivia he used to recount along with his excellent teaching.. Simple, at the same time detailed and easy enough for any layman to understand the difficult concepts of physics.. Always encouraging us to ask doubts, and answering them with ease, he helped us grasp things very easily...Convincingly one of the best physics teachers around,he had the exceptional ability to control the class without raising his voice by even a few decibels..Sir, we are indebted to you for the education u have imparted to us, and for the wonderful marks we achieved in the boards.and a BIG THANK YOU..

With his usual shake of the head, Mr. V.Selvan(sorry!) departs.N guess who's here !! our own ISM HOD of Computer Science..Mrs. Seema Janesh walks in quickly, bangs the teachers table (coz its way too noisy in here !!!), flashes a smile as if to say,"Im not angry,children.. Just to make u quiet." and starts with the usual C++ business.. Extremely intelligent and able, she would solve any difficult doubts raised by the now deceased "Knowall Clan" (though i know they will be back to their shady business very soon ..) Extremely hard working,Mrs. Seema would devise very easy technique to teach C++.. Giving extra practise,she used to make sure we would be able to attempt new questions on our own, which paid off because the computers board paper was tougher... Her class was always a little noisy, thanx to "U KNOW WHO", but let me assure u miss, we had the same respect for you and liking for your subject as much as for the other teachers and theirs'.. One program later, the class ends....

In comes Mrs. Sita Venkatraman... Easily the most feared and respected teachers(among the students,to be frank....) in the school, she was strict and at the same time friendly. She's a Swiss
Bank Account which is filled with 2 things : Knowledge and Intelligence.. And the code to this account : "Paying Attention in class".. Extremely strict in matters of completing homework,she used to ease up the tension in the class because not many did well in chemistry exams at school.. She never stopped telling us to work harder and harder, and that we would succeed at the boards... which happened... She prepared extremely easy to understand notes for the self-study chapters as well,and even found time to teach them, apart from the vast portion of chemistry.Extremely focussed, she only had one goal in mind: "Make us overcome our chemistry-phoboia(at least i had one)", and all her actions were directed towards that..A thank u is not enough, but i dont have anythin else to give, which would live up to her hard work.. I guess our good performance at boards is a small gift we could give...

Phew ! Finally last period.. And the ever smiling Mr.Sen K.Jose, our class teacher walks in, usually with a maths text book.. otherwise he would borrow one from varun.. A small "maths" is scribbled on top of the chalk board by the most admired personality of ISM (among the students,at least, for sure) The sight of him relieves us of all our tension as we know he is always there to solve any problem we might encounter.. I daresay we did give him a few serious problems.. Sir, we are extremely sorry for that.. I know u deserve much more for everything u have given us, i dont think any of us will be able to give back a thing even a fraction of what u have given us.. With his wonderful teaching skills and experience,he made even the most difficult sums to solve look like pieces of cake..We enjoyed his periods.. his smile brought many more smiles.. it was just like 2nd heaven... Making sure the weaker students also keep up with the rest of the class, he waited and made sure they understood the sum.. Always encouraging us to solve extra sums from R.D. Sharma,he wanted us to do amazingly well at the most dreaded exam:Maths.. Well, most of us did well beyond our expectations, all because of 2 years of hard work put in by him...I check my watch and two minutes to go for the bell..Its funny How fast 2 years can finish off, especially under the guidance of Mr. Sen K.Jose, they went rather smoothly for us..as he took the entire responsibility of our mistakes upon his shoulders, and made sure none of us were touched... Rrrinnggg !! goes the bell, the lights are switched off, and as usual i forget to switch off the fans, an Mr. Sen K. sends me back to do so.. Thats done...

We say thank you, good bye and give a promise that we'll be back in ISM to continue our relationship with our loving teachers... Till then... its a sign off from me.Byeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!
